Thought you knew history? Well you thought wrong! Just Kidding. But this book really makes you think, but after all you know it's just a fairy tale.
Rating: * * * * *
This series starts off as just a regular day for twin brother and sister, Josh and Sophie. Suddenly they realize that the bookshop's (in which Josh works) owner is the French immortal Nicholas Flamel. Flamel and his wife Perenelle (pronounced per-nell) are guarding a secret book in with letters switch and move showing new spells within. This book, known as The Codex, is extremely special since in the wrong hands it could outright destroy all of humanity.
Yet there is another man in the game of holding The Codex. His name? The infamous John Dee. John has chased the Flamels for hundreds of years and intends on giving the book to his dark master. He will do anything in his power to see that the Flamels no longer keep a hold of The Codex.
Join Josh and Sophie as they are taken around the world only to discover that they are special twins and that everything they believed is very, very wrong.
Welcome
Welcome to my blog! If your a reader you're in the right place. I post a new review with summary every day so come back for a new book and review and everything.

Geek Charming by: Robin Palmer
Another fairy tale brought to modern day.
Rating: * * * *
Geek Charming follows two main people and switches between them with each chapter to get both views. One is major geek Josh Rosen. He loves the film making business and anything about it. The other is high school popular Dylan Schoenfield. She pretty much owns the school.
Yet what happens when a popular loses everything? Her world comes screeching halt and her only friends left are the people she made fun of and all around was mean to. Yet Dylan soon finds out that Josh and his geeky friends are some of the nicest people she has met. Find out what happens to cause this thought in 'Geek Charming'.

Hot Gimmick series by: Miki Aihara
(Manga) This one wasn't on my favorites lists when it comes to manga books because the story skipped around and was somewhat hard to follow. Personally I think it could flow more smoothly.
Rating: * * *
Hot Gimmick is a manga series (more of a 16 and older kind of book) that follows Hatsumi as she goes through life like every teen. Well, if you are a teen who's brother is in love with you, your best guy friend hates you and loves to mess with you, and your arch enemy since you moved in starts to love you and doesn't give up.
I can't give too much away, after all this is just a summary, but the start of it all is Ryoki Tachibana, her arch enemy, making Hatsumi his slave so that he will keep her sister's little secret that slipped out. Now that her brother loves her and her best guy friend hates her but starts to love her again. She is trying to decide who she loves more.
As you continue to read, she switches between the three. Which makes you wonder... WHO WILL SHE CHOOSE? Find out in the Hot Gimmick series (12 books).

Beastly by: Alex Flinn
You may have seen the movie but Alex Flinn's modern day 'Beauty and the Beast' fairy tale is so much better.
Rating: * * * * *
Kyle Kingsbury is your average day stuck up guy. Always bragging about something and that gets him into a heap of trouble. Kyle thinks he owns the school and acts like nothing less than a jerk. When he decides to play a little trick on Kendra, the dark and "speaks her mind" witch, she puts a curse on him turning him into a hideous, furry monster. She gives him 2 years to find someone who will love him for him.
Kyle later meets Lindy, the brainiac he never truly knew at school. He soon finds her dad sneaking into his home that his father, the stuck up news caster, puts him in. Before Lindy's father can steal anything Kyle runs out to check on his (not Lindy's) roses after the man smashes in. He requests Lindy to come to live with him that way he can get closer to her.
Kyle (who at this point goes by Adrian King) tries everything to get Lindy to love him. Will he succeed or will he be a monster forever?
(The book is much more related to Disney's The Beauty and the Beast than the movie made for the book.)

Matched by: Ally Condie
This one is a quickie.
Rating: * * * * *
One of the most romantic, futuristic books I've read, with an ending that would blow your mind.
Matched follows Cassia, a "go with the flow" kind of gal, who lives in a town where everything is chosen for you. Even who you will one day marry and have kids with. But when a twist happens and two people end up being on Cassia's match card, she doesn't know what to do. One is her perfect match and her friend for as long as she can remember, but is the other's mysteriousness and knowledge of cursive writing to hard to resist? What is she to do? Find out in Matched.

Catching Fire by: Suzanne Collins
(Don't read unless you read Hunger Games!!)
Rating: * * * *
I loved this book, but not as much as the first one.
All of your favorite characters are back for another take. This time the Hunger Games are bringing back previous winners from the Districts. Katniss is back with partner, and fellow winner, Peeta for the games again. This time they are facing thee best of the best and using their "blooming romance", (which started at the end of the first book) to get sponsors. But now it could turn into something more. Yet what does the pretend couple, that is on every television in every District, do when they join a group of allies that want to stop the games at any cost? They join and fight the power... hard.
P.S. If you've read Hunger Games but not this one. Pick up a copy from your local library.

Hunger Games by: Suzanne Collins
First book review blog!
So I'm super duper excited about my first book review blog.
Rating: * * * * *
So when I read the first chapter of this book I fell in love. Usually it takes a couple of chapters to get me hooked but this was way different.
The story follows Katniss, a teenage girl who has to care for her family. She hunts off grounds for food, skin and money just to provide. In her city, or District, there are many rules and one is the participation of two people from each District in the "Hunger Games". Now Katniss has a younger sister, Prim, who is chosen along with a boy she's only met once before, Peeta, to participate in the games. In all of the confusion Katniss volunteers to take Prim's place. The reader follows Katniss through the Hunger Games and the death and despair she encounters. Making allies and surviving the roughness and violence of these terrible games. To sum it up this story has terrifically detailed setting and characters to die for.
P.S. If you haven't read it. Borrow it from a friend, the library, just read it.
